If you think social media is a giant wasteland of narcissists posting pictures of their Kodak Moment Perfect Lives and not an opportunity to get new business, then think again.
I’ll admit that was my first impression of social media.
But I’ve been spending a LOT of time on Facebook learning how their advertising system works and I have to tell you there is a side of Facebook you don’t know about if you are looking only at selfies and funny videos.
Many people on social media participate in groups filled with other professionals, from speakers to professional associations (like dentists) or sports fans or hobbyists. And they buy things. Lots of things.
Here’s a game plan to make social media work for you:
1. Find the groups that your prospects participate in
2. Join the groups
3. Participate in the groups by answering questions and being helpful. You’ll be seen as a thought leader in a short time.
4. Advertise your product, service of webinar. Facebook lets you focus your message with pinpoint precision to your target audiences. I have seen other pros use this formula and make a ton of money. No kidding. It works. Ads fill seminar seats. If you can make a compelling offer during the seminar, as I’ve seen others do, you will do quite well.
I’m still learning a thing or two about advertising on Facebook and will be introducing my own webinars for PR firms soon. But I’ll also be offering advertising services for some of my clients. If you’re interested, send me an email and we’ll set up a time to talk.
One of the great things about Facebook advertising is that it is extremely affordable. You can set any budget amount you like!
